Bush Hands Over U.S. To Native Americans (1992)

"It's Theirs Anyway," Bush says.

August 25, 1992: With candidate Bill Clinton well ahead in the polls prior to last week's Republican National Convention, it was clear George Bush needed a strong domestic agenda to regain popularity. Now his re-election has been almost guaranteed as he revealed his plan to give the United States back to the original owner, the Native Americans. "It belongs to them, lets give it back, the President said during his nomination acceptance speech, drawing massive applause with his quote of Midnight Oil's "Beds Are Burning" hit single.

The early Onions, like this glorious one from 1992, featured coupons from local Madison, WI businesses which were 'tear-off' style. We doubt the coupons are still valid.
